OWAC 2017 State Meeting!
We appreciate all of those who attended the OWAC state meeting this year. It was held on June 22, 2017 at Heritage Free Will Baptist Church at 1pm. We enjoyed special speaking this year by Ms. Mallory White who is the Director of Programs and Development for The Hope Center which is a ministry of Free Will Baptist Family Ministries. Mallory spoke on our theme of Praise Him! The greatest reminder we were given that day is that if we do not praise Him the rocks will! We also enjoyed a time of fellowship and productive meeting with each other.

2016 State Retreat Recap
We were very thankful to have Rebekah Seymour from “that state up north” and Katie Greenwood, Editor for Randall House, with us this year. We enjoyed Rebekah’s unique style in leading worship, and were blessed by her sweet spirit. Katie did a wonderful job of speaking to us on this year’s theme, Beautiful Words, based on Psalm 19:14. On Friday, we were reminded of how our words can really effect those around us and how our words should be used to encourage others. Saturday, she focused on our minds, and the meditations of our heart and encouraged us to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, of any virtue, and being of any praise (Philippians 4:8). What a great reminder to stay in God’s word so that we may know Him intimately.
Congratulations to the following churches for taking home trophies this year: Westerville FWB for the most ladies in attendance, Compassion FWB (our new Ohio missionary church) for best present to member ratio, and Lebanon FWB for the most first time attendees! Great job, ladies!
Friday night WNAC board member, Sarah Sargent, shared WNAC’s 2016 report. During Saturday’s service, we took up an offering for the WNAC office. We were also given information about a national women’s retreat being held in Cuba, and how we can help send a Cuban woman to that retreat for just $30. Thank you to all the churches, local WAC groups and individual women that contributed to either fund. If you would like to sponsor a Cuban woman cost to her retreat, please contact the WNAC office at 1-877-767-7662. After Saturday’s afternoon service, we put what we learned about beautiful words into action by writing handwritten notes to our Pastor, someone who influenced us in our faith, and to someone who may need some encouragement.
Praise the Lord for His presence at the retreat. May all that all we do be glorifying to Him! Our prayer is that each year, this retreat helps women grow closer to Him. If you missed it, we pray that you can join us next year. Mark your calendars for October 13-14, 2017!
